Three weeks ago, I went out in the evening to pick up Mexican food from a restaurant close by. The waitress who was putting all the takeout orders together was limping.
I asked her, “What’s going on with your leg?” She said, “I twisted my ankle this morning while serving customers and since then, I have been in a lot of pain and can’t walk well at all. I plan to go to my doctor tomorrow.” Here I went again asking if I could pray over her ankle. She let me touch her ankle and pray over it with a smiling face. She felt better after the prayers but not to the point where she was completely set free from her pain and inflammation. Couple of days ago, I went back again to the same restaurant. There she was busy doing her stuff. As soon as she saw me, she came to tell me, “I met you 3 weeks ago. My ankle was set free from pain and inflammation the same night. I didn’t even have to go to doctor the following day.” Together, we thanked Jesus for His healing! The important lesson I learned from this experience is that God gives us opportunities if we look around, so we could bring His presence and Him on the scene for others' need. But are we willing to seize the moment or opportunity when we come across one? I believe God takes pleasure in backing us up when we are taking a RISK and stepping out in Jesus' name. Matthew 18:18-19, “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”

Recently, my Jewish friend told me, “Mamta, the healing you received from God was just for you and it’s NOT for everyone else.” This gave me an opportunity to have a dialogue with her on the subject of HEALING, who God is, and what His attributes are. I had to tell her that God doesn’t do any favoritism, so if He could heal me; He would heal others too.
This made her curious, so she questioned me, “Do you mean that others can receive their healing too from God?” I told her, “Jesus is sovereign and He holds the DIVINE HEALING POWER. It’s His joy to heal us, as He loves to see us get healed and delivered from our pain, infirmities, and illnesses. It's the enemy of our soul who comes to steal our health and blessings." Jesus’ words in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” What I learned through my healing journey, I could share with her that the Lord can either instantly heal us or have us go through a process of receiving His healing little by little or make us even wait. It’s up to the Lord. During our perseverance and waiting time on Him, He is sanctifying and molding us to be the person He wants us to become in Him. Above all, Jesus is interested in seeing our entire soul (body, mind, will and emotions, and heart) to be healed and restored. He knows how to fix and heal our fragmented and beaten up soul, only if we surrender our will to Him and allow Him to work on our behalf. I think my friend never heard this before, so she took it all in without asking me any further questions. Believing that she will ponder on God’s goodness and reach out to Him, if need be, for her healing, as it is available to her too. 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised—the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives.” |
