Had a wonderful exchange of dialogue with a couple of Indian ladies recently. Both were in physical pain, so I suggested them to seek their healing from Jesus.
Lady 1: Why do you think that Jesus is the ONE from whom we can receive healing? Our healing can also come if we pray to any other god. Me: Jesus’ name has the Wonderful Working Healing Power! When we pray for healing or any other situation in the name of Jesus, He always answers to our prayer requests. He knows what’s best for us. I told her that there are healing testimonies after testimonies of Jesus where stage 4 cancer patients have been healed, people who were born blind have received eyes, a lame is able to walk, pain and infirmities have been broken over people, victory received over depression, anxiety, and stress, and the list goes on and on. I could tell that this lady never heard such the Good News like this before, as she was surprised to know about it. Upon telling lady 2 that Bible is the Living Word of God, she asked the following question: Lady 2: Why do you say that Bible is the living word of God? And what do you mean by “the living word?” Me: Jesus is not a dead God but THE one and only one living God. He died on the Cross for the entire humanity, and He graciously took our sins upon Himself, so we can be forgiven from its consequences. He was resurrected meaning He came back to life after 3 days of crucifixion. Since Jesus is alive, His word is alive too. He talks to us via His living word in the Bible, as it pierces through our hearts and conveys His message to us.

God’s words are active and powerful:
God’s power always backs us up when we share the Good News of the Gospel with others. His words do not go void but produces after its own kind. We never know what God can do with our small steps of planting His seeds into others. He might send another person to water over His sown seeds, make people hungry and thirsty for His living word, or even make their hearts ready to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and bring salvation into their households. All things are possible if we believe and do His will! Let’s do what we know, as we cannot be ashamed of the Gospel or keep Jesus to ourselves. Our living testimonies of Jesus need to be shared with others, so others can be benefitted too just like we are. Jesus has already set the tone for us, as He is the FIRST ONE amongst us who proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God on the earth, healed every disease and sickness among people, and set the captives free. Let us follow His example and do what He has already shown and told us to do through His living word. Mark 16:15, “Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone.” Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” |
