Recently, a young man wearing a compression sleeve on his left elbow drew my attention at my gym. I was reluctant to approach and speak with him but something stirred my heart to reach out any way.
Upon inquiring about his elbow, he told me that he fell from his bike a couple of months ago and he has been under doctors’ treatment. His pain and stiffness have not gone which prevent him from doing his chores with ease. His sleeve gives him the mobility he needs and puts his elbow in place. I asked if he believed in God and His healing. To my surprise, he said, “I am a Christian and I believe in God’s healing.” He allowed me to pray over his elbow. After a couple of days, we met again at the gym. This time he approached me with a big smile and told me that his elbow feels so much better. I didn’t see him wearing his compression sleeve either and he was even able to lift heavy weights without his sleeve. Thank you Jesus! It’s really NOT about us but about God. He just loves to show up and takes care of His children's needs. He delights in everyone, as He doesn’t want anyone to perish. Even when my confidence was low in reaching out and speaking with this man, Jesus was ready to bless him. This tells me how much God cares and waits on us to invite Him in every area of our lives. It’s not about our feelings, abilities, or sight but our walk by faith in Him that draws Jesus' attention and blesses Him the most. 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
